Full-Time Custodian/Janitor

Little Red School is looking for a full-time custodian/janitor employee with experience in maintaining school facilities and grounds. Under the direct supervision of the school principal, the groundskeeper/custodian will be responsible for performing general maintenance and janitorial duties. All work will be done in compliance with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations. The starting pay starts at $15.58 per hour.

Employee responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies
  • Set up for school functions including games
  • Janitorial duties: cleaning classrooms, cafeteria, bathrooms, offices, and the district building
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol
  • Perform other maintenance and school-related duties as requested

Required employee skills:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, floor washing/wax machines, and small hand tools
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
