Little Red to Remain Open During "RedForEd" Week

Parents and guardians, as you may know, more than 75% of Arizona school employees voted last week to begin a walkout on Thursday, April 26. The movement RedForEd supports higher paying wages for teachers, school employees, and more funding for our schools. Although we support this movement, we would like to assure you that our school will remain open on Thursday, April 26. We will also remain open on the days following Thursday, April 26. We will continue to follow a regular schedule. Little Red's priority is to our students and families. Please take a moment to read a letter from our district superintendent regarding this walkout. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Fire Station Field Trip

Little Red went on a field trip to our local fire station in Rio Rico where we went a tour. The students were able to get in the trucks, wear the fire coats, and spray the water. They had a blast! We are so thankful to our local firefighters who serve and protect us and who were so kind and welcoming to our school during this field trip.

Author of Coco Visits Little Red

The children at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Nogales had a special reading on Thursday.

The author of Coco, the book based on the Disney film, made a visit to the school. Roni Capin and her husband shared her latest story, Miguel and the Amazing Alebrijes, with third and fourth-grade students. She also answered questions the children had about writing and storytelling.

Capin gave each kid a signed copy of her book after the reading. To learn more about our special day, please see KGUN9’s news clip, Coco Author Visits Nogales School.
